Abortion in Burkina Faso is strictly regulated, with only specific cases being permitted for the already short window of the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. The four cases in which abortion is legal for these 10 weeks are to save the woman's life, to preserve the woman's physical or mental health, if the child may be born with an incurable disease, or if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest (state prosecutioner verification required).
