In Bosnia and Herzegovina, abortion is legal on request for the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. Between 10 and 20 weeks, it is legal if the pregnancy is the result of a sexual crime, poses a threat to the pregnant person's life or health, or risks the health of the fetus if it were born. There is no gestational limit for saving the life of the pregnant person. In regions belonging to the Republika Srpska, counseling is required before and after the procedure.
